MrsMcC
Hello Admin, is it possible to have the 'Private Messages' link to flag up red or bold to show you have one rather than having to click into it all the time to see if any received? Thanks.
Loz
You can go into 'My Control Centre" and under Options-Forum Settings you set 'Enable e-mail notification for private messages' to Yes and you will get an email notification every time someone sends you a PM. El Pibe
if you have a new one you get a noptificsation link "you have new private message(s)' at the top right, just click into it when it appears.
MrsMcC
Thanks Loz but I don't have my email open all the time to see them there and thanks El Pipe I'll look out for that.....
Otta
As El Pibe says, a little message will appear at the top of your screen when any forum page loads.
Scutari Flower
I've stopped getting email notifications that I've got a private message even though it's still says yes to this in my preferences. Any suggestions about how to fix this? I only just noticed and found that I had 19 messages. I hadn't looked as I expected to be notified. Thought it was odd no one replied.... Administrator Administrator Posted October 12, 2014 Administrator Share Posted October 12, 2014 Hmm I don't know, I get an email when I get a PM, so it's definitely working. Check your spam folder, I recently found out that my spam emails were automatically deleted (rather than going into a spam folder) so I was blissfully unaware of lots of messages. I changed a setting on my email providers' settings and bingo, I now get hundreds of spam emails into my spam folder.
cazloz
hi Admin,There is definitely a problem here - I was successfully been getting notification emails until the 17 Oct, but nothing since then. And there's nothing in my email spam folder.
Jacqui5254
Me too. And no notification of PMs..not sent to my personal email address so didn't know someone had written to me.
KalamityKel
does this happen even after you've read all outstanding PMs?I found in the past, for some reason, if I was receiving a large number of PMs in a row and I hadn't gotten round to reading them I wouldn't receive other notifications until I'd read them all and then it would go back to normal. Also you might want to try logging out of ALL places you use the forum (using mobile access one always forgets to close the browser properly!) and then log in again.Just a couple of thoughts :)
cazloz
No, it still didn't work even when all messages were read.
