Not sure if this has been talked about before - a quick search for "settings" and "preferences" didn't bring anything back so guessing not.

What do people think about being able to put more info on our profile pages e.g. a photo if we wanted, link to blog or other sites we have and so on.

Also I've seen on other discussion boards you can also see the last x number of posts form that person on their profile page, which I find another quite handy way of navigating around.

I've re-instated the link that says "View all posts by " on the profile page, that shows the all the posts in chronological order which I believe is kind of what you mean.

I can certainly try and add more fields, what do you think:

favourite curry house in ED

Maybe some flags as well such as:

johnny come lately/ed original

working class/middle class

but seriously keep it simple I reckon

flickr give a bit of space to elaborate a bit about yourself should you so wish, an avatar and some favourite movies/books/music stuff

Mine is stuffed full of the usual egomaniacal solipsistic stuff which we're probably best avoiding, but scroll down for the normal stuff.

Yeah, shops, pubs, curry houses etc

actually I've got to do a Phorum software update first, maybe bank holiday Monday (if it's raining outside) then I'll add some more fields. But yes, keep it simple, I think perhaps 5 fields and then one generic 'About Me' one

I agree that you can get carried away with lots of fields, most of which people won't use.

I would suggest

- an about me (free format text)

- text box for for misc links. For example I might put in

andrew.black512 Andrew's Flickr pictures

http://www.morleychamberchoir.org.uk/ Choir I sing in

The latter would cover most of the wierd and wonderful fields people want.

    • If I buy a soap dispenser and want it to produce foam, do I need to add water? What is the ratio of water to hand soap?
    • That's a good idea smiley blue , if you or anyone else comes across petitions to end these despicable acts of cruelty to defenceless animals please put on here or start a new thread if you please so we can sign the petition and add our objections to this , I would also like to thank all of you the people for reading these messages and adding your voices to this cruelty,  maybe we can end it
    • Malumbu, by that measure are police efforts to cut down on anti-social driving by issuing tickets and fines a token effort as well? Surely punitive measures for cyclists breaking the rules will encourage them not to break the rules again? A bit like when you got stopped and taken into the cab of an HGV. The police are currently using that tactic to show those who break the rules cycling that it might lead them to being hit by a lorry due to the driver's having limited vision - the cycling equivalent of a speed awareness course for drivers.    When they stopped you was it because you had broken a rule or was it just more of an education programme and they asked you to take a look and did it change your cycling behaviour in any way? As I said previously there are those who break the rules on cycling out of ignorance (and those out of arrogance) and I am sure they are using HGVs to educate those in the ignorance category and then hitting those in the arrogance category with the PCNs.
    • Good that PETA is on it but can we add our voices to the fight against this horrible practice? I’m still shocked! A petition maybe? Happy to raise to the RSPCA but don’t want to duplicate efforts. I’ve signed campaigns from RSPCA before which sends it directly to your councillor
