Hello,

1st post. I'm interested in how you are not getting Spam on this forum. I run a very basic forum based on phpBB and I get 3/4 requests a day from auto sign up spam bots. How on earth do you get around this problem... ?

Good layout btw.

Cheers

Boris

Hi Boris

Glad you like the layout, it's basic but it works although we are looking at sprucing it up in the near future.

I guess there's minimal spam on here because:

a) you have to be registered to post

b) to register you have to confirm your email address by clicking the link sent to it

c) There is an Administrator who patrols the site watching for dodgey posts.

d) a few domains are banned from posting on here using PCRE compares e.g ^.*\.ru$ (which means noone with a .ru domain is allowed to post

e) there is a module running called bad behaviour http://www.ioerror.us/software/bad-behavior/

there are a few spam bots who get thorough all that defense and it sometimes comes down to the good old users to report those posts

I hope that helps

Mark
