We've all become a bit blas about manager's and player's comings and goings, but this gave me a real WTF moment from the BBC's european round-up feature...

There are reports that Paris St-Germain boss Unai Emery could face the sack after six months and be replaced by former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

WTF!...smiling smiley

BFS is bent as a spring and should have been banned from the game as well as losing his England job.

Bob Bradley sacked as manager of Swansea. No surprise there. Terrible appointment in the first place. Should never have sacked Franceso Guidolin.

Harry throwing his not inconsiderable hat into the ring.

They need somebody who can attract players in January. At least it would be fun watching the circus.

I'd like to see Giggs have a go.

I have no feelings about Swansea either way so from a completely neutral standpoint, it would be interesting.

messageRe: Football Focus

There doesn't appear to be a standout candidate. IMO Giggs would be a massive risk, he's never played in a relegation dog fight yet alone been a manager in one. I would go for Gary Rowett, recently sacked by Brum for no other reason than they wanted a high profile name like Zola, even though he's been a poor manager up to now. Rowett fits the previous Swansea model of a young progressive manager, trying to play attractive football. If they go down, which I think they will, he will also have the experience of managing in the Championship...

I think Pardew would know what to do with the current squad - and wouldn't have a Benteke to deal with

Show of strength from the top 6 this week. Significant gap to 7th now.

Quite a few of the fans agree. Staying up now would be a bonus
(Hartson said 9 wins out of 20)

Officially better than Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard. Sort of.

After 50 top flight matches:
Dele Alli: 16 goals, 10 assists
Paul Scholes: 16 goals, 3 assists
Steven Gerrard: 2 goals, 3 assists
Frank Lampard: 5 goals, 2 assists

And he does this for laughs.

Despite the one-sided nature of the SPL, the Old Firm game is still a great game to watch...C'mon the Hoops!

I don't know. You wait ages for a scorpion and then two come along at once.

Sorry just catching up on two weeks of footy.

An open question - who is the best/most liked/least unwanted of the crucial three

Mark Hughes, Big Fat Sam or Pulis?

Crucial meaning what?

messageRe: Football Focus
Posted by malumbu 02 January, 2017 15:54

Its a take on the Crucial 3 - Julian Cope, Ian McCulloch and Pete Wylie, but you'd have to be over 50 to probably get that one. None of the crucial 3 have managed football teams but Julian Cope is a druid and historian.

Mike Dean, sir you are a useless, arrogant, attention seeking c**t

Absolutely classic Liverpool. Win against a top 4 rival, then lose against a bottom 3 team. If Chelsea win at Spurs they're 8 points clear. Can't see anyone overturning that unless they lose a couple of key players to injury or something.

We've all seen some fairly shoddy refereeing at times (and it's often him) but this was incredible. Has he been drug tested?

And during what was our best display so far at the new gaff.

Things can't be that bad if you class a draw as a defeat. This table shows how the Xmas fixtures have favoured Chelsea:

Hours that will be taken to play all three festive matches
Hours taken from the start of a team's first game to the end of their third game
1 Chelsea 223
2 Watford, Crystal Palace 201.5
3 Swansea 199
4 Arsenal, Bournemouth 198.75
5 Stoke 172.75
6 West Ham 172.5
7 Man Utd 172.25
8 Burnley, Everton, Sunderland, Tottenham, West Brom 170
9 Hull, Man City 167.75
10 Leicester, Middlesbrough 167.5
11 Liverpool 143.75
12 Southampton 117

I agree RD. It was a good one as it turned out. Winning after going behind, away from home, is always sweet. Great equalizer from Dembele. Rangers played well but Celtic had many more shots/corners etc so the gap was a possibly bigger than the scoreline suggests. I'd say Rangers dominated the first half hour, and Celtic the last hour.

A nice end to a year that got better and better for Celtic.
