I'd normally side with Spurs and have predicted a 3-2 home win, but a draw would suit us best...

Jah better make the most of it, Alli will be playing in white next season, not necessarily Lilywhite...

Things are a little different since our last big name departure.

The following have all signed new long term deals in the last few months:

Pochettino
Lloris
Kane
Alli
Eriksen
Dier
Vertonghen
Rose
Walker
Carroll
Winks
Vorm

And by all accounts a new Alderweireld deal is close.

That doesn't mean they won't leave though, just that Spurs will get more money if one was sold, and the player in the meantime gets a salary increase. Everybody's happy...until a bigger club comes calling.

20m from the Hammers for Dembele.

He looked impressive in the Old Firm game. I also thought Patrick Roberts looks a player, shame he's a blue nose...

It was more intended to illustrate the feeling at the club at the moment.

Players love being there and love Pochettino and what he's building. All have made very positive and encouraging noises about the future. Less need to chase money and glory elsewhere.

Plus there's always the joy of StTottering Day which for many of us has become one the most important and enjoyable occasions of the modern football era, even overtaking Cup Final day in our affections.

Ridiculous decision by FIFA to expand the WC to 48 teams. This is what the European Club Association wrote about it:

"The European Club Association reiterates that it is in principle not in favour of an expanded World Cup.

"We fail to see the merits to changing the current format of 32 that has proven to be the perfect formula from all perspectives. Questionable is also the urgency in reaching such an important decision, with nine years to go until it becomes applicable, without the proper involvement of stakeholders who will be impacted by this change.

"We understand this decision has been taken based on political reasons rather than sporting ones and under considerable political pressure, something ECA believes is regrettable.

"ECA will analyse in detail the impact and the consequences of the new format and will address the matter at the next meeting of its Executive Board scheduled for the end of January."

Met him on the train home once (living in Bucks at the time), couldn't have been more friendly and gracious to me.

Good pundit as well.

Indeed, despite being pilloried whilst England manager (who isn't) he remained a genuinely nice guy...

Sorry to share a link with the truly dreadful Sun but this is worth reading as Ronaldo and Messi are finally catching up with my hero Jimmy Greaves goal scoring record. The fact is Ronaldo is just eight goals behind him so will at his goal scoring rate probably surpass it in a matter of weeks.

It's worth remembering just what a genius he was on the pitch. To me he is a true footballing god who has been under appreciated in the country of his birth. And for me is better than both Messi and Ronaldo who played at a time when defenders kicked lumps out of forwards and played on crap pitches, not like the bowling green lawns they play on today.

Jimmy Greaves - he's one of our own.

I've never been a fan of the British media, but the vitriol and poisonous character assassination heaped upon graham Taylor during his spell as England manager was disgraceful. Now they are putting out gushing stories about how great he was. Perhaps they should have told him that while he was alive eh?
