shredded paper

I have just filled 4 bin bags with shredded paper and just realised Lambeth does not accept it for recycling - any ideas what to do with it?

I would go through the bags, painstakingly matching each of the related strands, taping the sheets back together as you go. Then place them in the recycling. Sorted

advertise it on here as packing/moving stuffing - it's great for ornaments/breakables.

FWIW...Southwark will recycle shredded paper as long as it's put in a large envelope or paper bag...

They take mine. I just put it in a bag inside the blue recycling bin. I checked with a passing binman and he said it was OK.

According to the Lambeth page on what can't be recycled:

Shredded paper

Becomes tangled in the sorting machinery at the materials recovery facility. Please only shred personal information. Shredded paper can be used as pet bedding or placed into compost bins. Otherwise place it into your refuse bin from where it will be used to generate electricity
