Hi

I have just moved back to forest hill area, and I am looking for some people to run with, I am not really interested in joining any clubs, just looking for some people to jog with over the weekends.

I would consider myself a beginner, I run about 3.5km most week day morning from my home to brockley and have been working on some longer distances on the weekends. Looking at increasing the distance over weekends by 1km ever other week (currently on 6km) though as I said I am a very beginner at this so probably more run/walking as I get better.

So if anyone would like to join me or know of social circles that job around me please get in contact, as I said I dont really want to get into a affiliated club, I know of dulwich runners (my father was a member) but just isnt my thing.

Would you consider parkrun (www.parkrun.org.uk)?

There's one in Peckham Rye that's about as sociable as you want to make it. Turn up, run, and go home, or stick around and chat. 5k every Saturday morning at 9am, not an outrageous distance from Forest Hill, either...

    • Why not watch a video? I know it’s not the same but it saves such grotesque waste.
    • I have ordered from them and they do free delivery within a certain radius.  Have only had some of their vegetarian dishes which were all good including the onion bhajis that come with a very tasty spicy green sauce accompaniment.  Also, they start service from 1230 pm if you want lunch.
    • The bin outside Harris Primary School has been a spot for fly-tipping weekly. This is now a hazard for the children going to school every day - they have to walk over the rubbish to get into the school!  The rubbish has been there since Saturday, it is Tuesday 23 April today and nothing has been done! I've see a person who lives across the road dumping her house rubbish to into the bin but I believe it is not only her now but other people too!
