Has anyone read Tessa's "Homes for Londoners" speech ? It talks a lot about the need for new homes but doesn't explain how they will be funded. Anyone able to enlighten me ?

However there is a bit in there for Louisa.

We need new homes with mixed communities at their heart that harness London?s diversity. Let?s make sure that new homes unite communities rather than dividing them.

Lots of buzz phrases, but no real action plan.

Having said that, Tessa does seem to be the best candidate declared so far. The Tories don't seem to have anyone credible (though Justine Greening, should she go for it, would be interesting) and the LibDems have yet to declare anyone yet.

Tessa Jowewl !! For me has been brilliant, over the past year o so I have been battling Southwark council, the support and guidance that she had provided has proved invaluable and as my local MP I was sad to see her go.

If she cares half as much as she has done for just one individual what a grand major she would make for us all.

BIG UP TESSA!!!

When many of the Dulwich College Estates tenants were made to move from their homes in the and '90s (many were very elderly and not an insignificant number died soon after) Tessa was asked to step in and help the tenants stay in their homes by persuading the Council to renew the leases (and it was cheap) but she didn't

    • A quick Google found this, amongst other things: "Social impact models are frameworks or approaches that guide how organizations or initiatives address social or environmental problems."
    • "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it must be a duck" comes to mind Unfortunately, a large number of cyclists do exhibit selfish amd anti social behaviour which, regardless of how many good cyclists there are, is seen as the norm.  It's a bit like one car driver jumping a red light and all car drivers getting tarred by the same brush. Perception is the issue and if cyclists all obeyed the rules, everyone would be less anti them but unfortunately that isn't the case 🤔
    • Crikey. How did you know it was Immigration Enforcement?
    • Saying cyclists are the most antisocial people in London isn't helpful.  Nor is the Standard referring to cyclists as lycra clad louts  Yes we can have an adult conversation.  But emotive knee jerk nonsense is not going to achieve this and just plays into the hands of those wanting a manufactured culture war
