sjw
why is there a sudden influx of cats and kittens for sale or being offered for adoption on the For Sale section. I thought this was against the remit of this forum.
ianr
Why is there not a section just for cats?
TheArtfulDogger
Maybe its a bit like having pampas grass in your front garden in the 70s A lady advertises a cat or kitten for sale, invites gentlemen callers around to see her "cat" and then asks money for it... Of course I could be totally wrong but it's a good rumour if ever I heard one !
red devil
Well done Artful for not mentioning pussy. Not an easy thing to do after watching Are You Being Served the other night...
TheArtfulDogger
Damn this predictive text that always replaces "cat" with cat ... See what I mean I tried so hard to insert cat there and all I got was cat ... Grrrrr

I didn't see any sales... or maybe I just missed them.Offering animals for free (eg rehoming) is permitted afaik.
SGHunter
it doesn't say anywhere that you can't advertise animals on the forum I checked before i posted for a friend
Saffron
There is a guideline for selling animals...From Admin, in the Sales section- Animals can only be sold if there's a link to them listed on another reputable websiteThere was quite a lengthy discussion on this a while back. Free animals are fine. Selling needs to be linked to a site such as the webpage of an established or registered breeder. I believe this was intended to deter the inappropriate sale or purchase of animals.
Jeremy
My tuppence worth - giving away animals is fine if you use a bit of common sense. For instance, a long-term forum user who teaches piano is unlikely to have a secret sideline in dog fighting.

solar
I agree zenoria. I've recently adopted two delightful rescued kittens through Celia Hammond. I would highly recommend adopting through them.
