Has my builder moved in?

I'm worried that my builder is surreptitiously trying to move into my house. He's been doing my new bathroom for 3-months now and its still not finished and he is still here late in the evening when I come back from work, and is here some weekends as well. And all his tools are in one of the spare rooms. What should I do? My wife doesn't seemed bothered and says I'm imagining it.

3 months to do a bathroom?!?

Have you paid in advance? Would say it's time to look for a new builder - unless you've got a really large/complicated bathroom project it should really take 2-3 weeks max IF he is working on it full time

So What exactly are you having done?

We had our bathroom done a few months ago which was pretty much totally stripped out, new tiling on walls / floor, new sink, toilet etc... and it took just over 2 weeks excluding painting.

Everything stripped back bare, oh dear I suspect that includes Mrs buzzard who is helping hold your builders tool and making sure that he is well looked after and provided with every opportunity to sort out the plumbing whilst you are out at work ...

This could explain your sudden need to get in with the school run mums in your cords as obviously Mrs buzzard is clearly focused on other things like the crack your builder is filling for her

Wake up man and smell the gypsum !

I was going to suggest watching that documentary 'Desperate Housewives', but this is much more eloquent.

I'm going to tell him to finish this week as there is only a bit of tiling left to do. I was worried as I'd seem a roll up mattress and sleeping bag next to his tools and he's always here late at night and early in the morning, but I never hear him leave, and my wife makes him tea in the morning.
