Exterior brick cladding

Hi all,

We have a terrace house and the previous owners covered the original brick with render.

We have been told that removing this will likely ruin the brick underneath but brick cladding was an option where half bricks are attached to the render and then cemented in.

Has anyone else done this as I am worried it will not look like the original style?

How many quotes have you had?

Not an expert but can't see why a bit of render will destroy bricks. I suspect the company doesn't want to chip it off properly.

It's often very tough to get off as the render sits in the cracks and gaps and render has usually been done to cover up things, bad pointing or cracks.

Render it again will be cheapest way out.
