London Marathon 2009 for Lymphoma Association

Please forgive the plug

As you may or may not know, I was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer (non-hogkins lymphoma) in 2007 and chemotherapy successfully put me into remission in November 2007.

I will be doing the London Marathon in 2009 (note the ?doing? and not ?running?!) in aid of the Lymphoma Association.

It was a tricky decision to decide who to run for ? do I run for the hospital and Unit that I work in (St George's Hospital), the hospital that treated me (Kings College Hospital) or an associated charity. The Lymphoma Association is the only UK charity specialising in information and support for patients and their families but is relatively small and does not have the funding streams that many other charities have.

I have a sponsorship page and would like to encourage you to have a look.

If anyone is interested I have just started a facebook group

Note the "Run" not "Do" ;-)

Good on yer! I'm a Royal Marsden supporter myself, but they all deserve it for their work.

I hope your training "Do's" have been going well....

Well, one week to go until the big day! Training has been an absolute nightmare as I came off my bike in December. Quarter ton of Thunderbird landed on my calf (as we slid along the road:-S) the muscles of which were crushed No broken bones thankfully but it took a long time to recover as one of the smaller tendons was damaged.

Been doing long runs over the last few weekends but taking a whole week to recover - I think I will get round but it will be a struggle.

I would very much appreciate it if you could sponsor me - please follow the links below

Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for their support. I have managed to raise over ?3000 plus ?650 gift aid for the Lymphoma Association.

Without my supporters including people on here, I would not have acheived such a fantastic amount.

thanks guys!
