So the Pirate Bay is in a bit of trouble....

Personally, this makes me sick. I have seen my work shared there that I have translated, and have seen sales of most of them increase due to being made available to a wider audience. Also, two applications I helped code have been shared a whole lot there, and, again, registrations for them increased by a huge amount, even when they are available for free. I have also put bits and pieces online there to get feedback and have found it incredibly useful.

Am sure this thread will quickly turn into a right mess, but before taking any moral high ground here, look into the mirror and your HD before claiming to be holier than everyone else. Also, during my (full time) stint in the games industry, I found, unsurprisingly that people (of all levels) in that, and the music biz are the biggest pirates of them all.

In truth pirate bay steal, and allow people to download all sort of software music movies and games electronic books etc all though this is great for the people who download content but it hurts the owner of the copyright material by damaging their revenue and prevents them from creating more products questionable I know and thats where the problem lies, in short it is stealing.

I think most people understand the intellectual argument behind the 'hey man it's P2P, not our responsibility' thing, but only the most optimistic of believers would have expected a different outcome for a court case against a website where you can rock up and be offered fifty pristine cracked versions of Photoshop in the space of one minute.

No need to be nasty my friend, when a musician releases an album and some oik creates a torrent of their work for people to steal it stops the musician from getting the money they would normally get through normal sales and prevents them from being able to do other work to some extent and its the same problem for the movie industry and games developers etc. Just my opinion nothing set in stone.

I didn't post rubbish and I'm not bothered either way really I told the truth and you cant handle the truth.
