Share prices on the SMG index for Muley plummet....

I mean, everyone to their own tastes and all, but anyone who, anytime after the 70s releases an album with the title

"When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king

What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight

And he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring

There's no body to batter when your mind is your might

So when you go solo, you hold your own hand

And remember that depth is the greatest of heights

And if you know where you stand, then you know where to land

And if you fall it won't matter, cuz you'll know that you're right"

That's the TITLE, not a lyric!

well... not for me.

Fair enough Sean, crap title without a doubt, and when I discovered her on Youtube (only a few weeks ago) I thought she would be an annoying, strident, whiney Yank indie princess. But listen to the album- her ability to write a melody, craft the lyrics and deliver the songs in that voice shows a talent and skill equal to anyone (and light years ahead of most). Can't remember being that excited by an album for years.

Also, does some cracking versions of old jazz standards such as 'You Belong To Me'

I may have plummeted down into the gutter, but I'm looking up at the stars!

Funnily enough I had a bit of a Fiona Apple thing on youtube recently too- and I do quite like some of her cover versions - Elvis's "I want you"

But I never got on with the albums of her own material, But enough.. I don't want to rag on your choice too much - it's not that kind of thread
