Does anyone know what's going on with the postal strike - I'm waiting for a Reading ticket that's supposedly being posted to me today by special delivery. On the web there are conflicting reports that it's just wildcat one day strikes or it's all out from today until agreement is reached

postal strike isnt in london today but the problem is there might be a backlog and post gets delayed from royal mail website

Services are now getting back to normal in London and we?re really sorry for the further inconvenience to customers in London . As a result of the CWU taking industrial action yesterday (Wednesday) redeliveries cannot be arranged today (Thursday). Instead customers can pick up items we have previously tried to deliver and for which we have left a ?sorry ... you were out? card. Or redeliveries can be arranged from Friday 21st August. The easiest way to arrange a redelivery is via our website www.royalmail.com/redelivery. Whilst we?re doing all we can to keep mail moving normally, there may be a slight delay to mail during this period in London.

    • That is clearly not true. I see car drivers breaking the law on an hourly basis - jumping red lights, speeding, not obeying the general rules. Plus they are operating considerably more dangerous machinery and should have a greater responsibility of care to other road uses. You can see who causes the most harm by the stats.

    • A quick Google found this, amongst other things: "Social impact models are frameworks or approaches that guide how organizations or initiatives address social or environmental problems."
    • "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it must be a duck" comes to mind Unfortunately, a large number of cyclists do exhibit selfish amd anti social behaviour which, regardless of how many good cyclists there are, is seen as the norm.  It's a bit like one car driver jumping a red light and all car drivers getting tarred by the same brush. Perception is the issue and if cyclists all obeyed the rules, everyone would be less anti them but unfortunately that isn't the case 🤔
