DJ Derek - that one is interesting.
I was speaking to someone recently who said he's gone missing a while back and there was concern for his welfare. Not sure if that story and his passing are relevant to one another.
Classic ska, bluebeat, reggae and dancehall DJ.
First came across him at Big Chill 10+ yrs ago, them he played monthly in Notting Hill, nicer guy you'd be pushed to meet.

He was a legend and a funny guy. I bumped into him at a festival once and we had a chat. I remember thinking what a dude he was.

Some people disliked Daniels for some of his outspoken views. I would have strongly disagreed with him on several things.

But I was a kid during his peak of fame, and grew up loving his magic show. I had the Paul Daniels magic set as a kid, and I loved "Wizbit", the weird kids show about a yellow cone and his 8ft bunny pal.

I thought he was very good - and at one time very popular.

I had a girlfriend who worked as his personal wardrobe assistant back in the 80s. She spent most of the time keeping his wigs clean and tidy.

Ya big eejet. When someone at work said Paul Daniels had died I very nearly piped up that Sinatra had too thanks to you. As I thought it would be bigger news I checked. The fecker has been dead years.

15 millions viewer at his peak - phenomenal stuff.

Hard to like personally, bit of a tit, really - let's be honest (god rest his soul etc)

Didn't take inevitable decline very well - though he's not alone in that.. no shortage of now-embittered but once-popular entertainers out there.

I loved Wizbit. I hadn't actually linked it with Paul Daniels in my (then child's) mind. Not until you just mentioned it.

Don't know. I assume he's still going though. Last I heard was his recent(ish) play about a honest but misunderstood comedian-of-the-people who finds his career thwarted by a cabal of poofers, lezzas, effnicks and lefties.

I bet he dies regularly on stage these days, what with all this political correctness gone mad sort of attitude prevailing.

Paul Daniels wasn't everyone's cups, but credit where it's due, he regularly pulled 13 mil plus viewers on a Saturday night in the 80's. The BBC have a lot to be thankful for.

Mick Mac - Frank Sinatra has been dead for almost 20 years!

He must have killed 'chalky' off surely

Even in very closed out of the country communities he'd not be working that one, surely

A true footballing legend. An all-time great... Though I might add I saw him get nutmegged four times by Glenn Hoddle in the first half of a UEFA Cup-tie at White Hart Lane. RIP Johan Cruyff.

Please don't blame me for this so called joke, but my son (who should know better) sent it to me. "Johan Cruyff has just died, apparently it was his turn"

Shocked at the death of Johan Cruyff, may he rest peacefully, was a true football legend
