Driver's licence: surrender or revoked?

Does anybody have any experience of surrendering a driving licence? (medical grounds)

Apparently surrendering may be better than revoking, for the driver, but I can find nothing about the whys and wherefores on official websites (and much of DVLA website seems to point to other websites).

Did you see this page? Seems pretty comprehensive on why it's better to surrender (no medical enquiries and if you later decide to reapply, you can drive whilst re-applying for a new licence, if you meet the medical standards). If your licence is revoked, you would have to wait until a new application to drive was approved. There are also a few how to pages at the bottom.

if he's potentially a danger to others then i think that it's your duty to tell him (and may be even stop him, as you might stop a friend who'd had a drink too many)

    • If you accidentally gave them the wrong account to send the money into, just transfer it into the account it should’ve gone to. Any accountant will understand that mistakes can be made when you’re handling several accounts. Done it myself loads of times and never had a problem with any accounting. Totally legit.
