distorted icons and text on Vista

Sounds like the display settings have been changed. Right click the desktop in a 'blank' place, go to 'Personalization', then into 'Display Settings". Try different settings on the resolution slider till you find the right one.

It's unlikely to have been deliberate, but there's quite a few applications (like 'flash' games as an example) that reset the screen resolution to make the game appear full-screen.

The other thing you might want to check is whether your graphics card has independent settings.

It may be that if you right-click on the blank area of screen that just above 'Personalise' there's a control panel for just your graphics card - mine for example says 'NVIDIA Control Panel'

There'll be settings options in there too.

    • They are certainly persistent - they try to sell us it every time we walk up and down Lordship Lane - no matter if you told them no thank you three minutes earlier! Anyone else feel that sense of relief when you walk and see they have someone they are talking (invariably looking like they are trying to get away) allowing you to walk past without becoming their next sale target?
    • Hello, we’re looking for a nursery for our daughter for 2 days a week from October and wanted to check if anyone has any recent feedback for Piplings or Purple Jay Peckham. Didn’t realise how long the waiting lists were in the area. Other recommendations also very welcome! Thanks in advance! 😊
