There is lots of talk in the news,about The Big Society, and the goverment are going to put big money into it

to help volunteers.

Can anyone understand what they mean? Or is this another fad spin word.

Both Labour's Big Conversation and the Tory/Lib Dem coalitions Big Society is otherwise known by the layman as 'hot air', Tarot.

Basically what it means is that the government wants all the people who currently provide us with the services we pay our taxes for to start doing it for free out of the goodness of their hearts as they are all going to lose their jobs over the next few months anyway.

were talking very loudly about it last week.

Listening to Portillo on this week it sounded more like, "stop expecting the government/taxpayer to get you out of every hole you land in." Not sure how that sits with the name Big Society, though.
