How do you store a bicycle out front?

Vicky terrace and don't want to wheel bike through our newly done up hall.

The bike is only worth 300 squid so don't want to go for an expensive metal storage thingy. Do you think a bike cover and dlock it to the railings (set into concrete) would be ok? Or is it better out of site in a wooden shed like thing?

Thoughts/personal experience appreciated.

The Toad suggests,

Try two raw bolts from Homebase, 6" or so long, with loops on the end. Drill a couple of holes into the wall and then insert the bolts and tighten up with a spanner. You can work out the height & distance apart according to your bike.

As an extra measure, remove the seat pin and with an allen key pack (they are light and compact to carry) adjust the handle bar stem so you bike is now flush against the wall.

Finally, put a cover over it!

Enjoy!

If you must keep it outside (not adviasable probably).....get yourself a couple of these anchor points

anchor point

The beauty of these anchor points is that when the lock is through it they can't be unscrewed. I use them in my garage for my motorbike.

Use good quality locks and make sure both wheels and frame are locked. You could also fit a bike alarm.
