Nothing fancy - its just lunch for me and a friend, but we are quite foodie.

I love Brindisa but probably won't even attempt to go there cos you can't book, can you? and its always ridiculously busy.

So anywhere else, which is not Wagamamas, or any of the other chains.

I'm partial to the Royal Oak if good pub grub and fine ale are your thing, though its a 5-10 minute walk from the market

There is fish shop right opposite the market itself. It has a restaurant out the back, really lovely provided you eat fish. Would also second Anchor and Hope on the Cut.

Ollie's chip shop have a branch just down the road.

Roast is stonkingly expensive but I treated me and MrPR to breakfast there on his birthday.

We then ate again the following week.

It is one fab restaurant if you are rich...

Bermondsey St has got lots of places - including a tapas bar, Jose, run by the guy who used to cook at Brindisa
