Good food...

Strawberryfields

Two recommendations for the Greyhound? I'm speechless

A stunning pub and great in many ways but the food is identikit Mitchell & Butler "fayre" - just blandalanda pap

If you go to the Greyhound you will either:

a) enjoy the food and be dead to me

b) wonder why anyone would recommend such dullness. And then I will wonder why you ignored advice to the contrary

Franklins and Palmerston remain the best bets for out of towners who want something restaurant quality

More informally, hisar, gowlett and the roast brisket on Sundays at the Florence/Bishop/Vic Inn are solid. And the Mag has upped it's game and sits somewhere in between

But the greyhound in the village? no no no

Greyhound does terrible food. Worst Sunday lunch I have ever had in my life, in fact probably the worst meal. I'm amazed to see people recommending it here.

Herne bad in other ways but yes is family friendly, just avoid having any dealings with the manager.

I'd try Franklins or the Mag .....
