'tis fast approaching the season for condensation

Is this the most boring post for a Friday? Probably...

...as the days/nights are getting cooler condensation has started to appear on our windows. We live in a Victorian flat with single glazing and when it's really cold we wake in the morning to find condensation running down our windows and pooling on the window sills (this happens even in the rooms we are not sleeping in). The window sill in our bedroom is getting damaged as a result.

I don't think we generate any more moisture than the average 3 person family - yesterday, for example, the windows were open all day, two showers, one baby bath, kettle boiled a few times, rice boiled for 10mins, no laundry out to dry, had the dehumidifier on and still there was condensation on the windows this morning and the night wasn't even that cold.

Any advice as to what we can do to reduce the amount of condensation on our windows, apart from leaving the windows open all day (too wasteful if the heating is on and no good when we're at work)?

Thanks

We had same problem before we got double glazed and solved it using this kind of thing

You can get similar from most diy stores.
