I admire your stance razors, especially when you holiday in Spain and spurn the company of your fellow couintrymen and speak only Spanish (or whatever dialect or language they speak in the bit you go to). Good for you! Muy bien hecho.

Been to Costa da Luz on holiday once years ago (much better than the Costa da sol) and then lived in Alcaidesa (near La Linea) for a year when we spent a fair few weekends over Tarifa way. Like the vibe there (more surfer) and not so many russian gangsters/hookers or Brits in Football shirts as on the other side ;-)

It took a Spanish thread and rumours of a Scots gangster to smoke him out... They're after ye Frankie boy!

Since when has it been acceptable to swear and abuse and call someone an arsehole on the forum because you do not agree with an opinion? I wonder if Admin finds this acceptable?

This also shows the dangers of allowing posts and threads in entirely foreign languages.

Semantically speaking it really translates as silly-billy. My dad taught me that word when I was still living in Spain when I was about 3.

Do feel free to report it to admin to bring it to is attention.

But don't worry, there's no danger, I've a sneaking suspicion there's a Spanish speaking moderator out there keeping an eye on things.

It was upfront Razors. Just happens to be in a language you don't understand. If the thread was titled say 'West Ham Supporters in Dulwich' would that bother you if you weren't a fan? I sure it wouldn't. This isn't any different. It's just someone trying to get a group together of people with something in common. Writing it in Spanish would certainly bring to the attention of those it's aimed at more than if it were it English.

Disagree on both bogus points as would anyone reading the thread. It is entirely reasonable that a local internet forum in France would be in French, in Germany German etc. If people want to start a forum (not thread) in another language other than the language of the forum (country) they are in-thats completely fine and unless you read/spoke that particular language there would be no point in joining that forum as you could not be informed/participate or enjoy could you.

Why dont we start threads in hundreds of other languages only and see how long the forum lasts.

    • Option 1.  Let them go bust.  Government takes over, until an appropriate solution found.  This happens with failing train operating companies  Option 2.  Anyone who made money on the privatisation, or their immediate descendants, bail them out  Obviously the latter isn't going to happen but makes me feel better/superior. What do you reckon?  Big picture.  Small picture as I posted elsewhere is that they were good when we had a leaking main.  And of course mass redundancies need to be avoided.
    • Hi my mum has a lovely frenchi , he needs to be walked , as mum (80) is a bit fragile . he is a lovely dog , a bit nervous when around other dogs . Mum lives in East Dulwich . how much do you charge ?   Thanks 🙏🏼
    • Plenty for sale online from various ticket vendors but you'll need to part with £250 and upwards by the looks of it. Out of interest i kept an eye on the prices for the England and Italy Euro final. At one point they were on offer for a couple of grand each. On the day sellers were obviously getting itchy feet and prices dropped somewhat but never went any lower than £400. That was a few hours before kick off. There was plenty still available half an hour before kick off.   Having been to Wembley a couple of times for play off finals i found it to be not a great place to watch football. Sat three rows back from the pitch side advertising hoardings for one game and way way up in the gods for the other. We felt to far away from the pitch on both occasions. Up in the goods was just stupid because we felt cut off as well.  I don't think it was rebuilt with acoustics in mind either. Even with most of our 25k fans singing it never sounded loud because it's pretty much uncovered and too open.   Happy hunting!
    • It doesn't work as a commercial venture.  Bit churlish to say I told you so.  I told you so.  I'll send less greetings cards.  What pees me off is international postage where you can no longer send light letters at 10 grammes, normal ones up to 20g, now all at the much more expensive 100 g  Didn't we vote to take back control and price everything according to irrational units like ounces? That's some obscure humour btw
