My fantastic au pair is looking for a nanny job from September

Recommended Posts

Our amazing Spanish au pair Sonia is looking for a nanny job from September. Sonia has lived with us in Forest Hill for the last year looking after my son aged 4 and daughter aged 6.I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is 24 years of age and is a trained primary school teacher in Spain (has completed a primary school education degree). Prior to joining us she worked at a summer school in Spain looking after over 60 3 and 4 year olds. Since living with us she has looked after my son and daughter before and after school - my son, who was 3 when she started only does 3 hours at nursery each day and the rest of the time Sonia has been caring for him. Sonia is also a trained life guard and has done a great job teaching my children to swim - they now do lengths of the 'big pool' on their own, all down to her weekly one to one lessons with them. She is hard working, responsible, caring and affectionate. Additionally she has been volunteering at my son's nursery within a primary school one day a week. My children will both be at school full time from September so we cannot offer her a job though as you can probably tell, I am going to miss her lots! She would make a fantastic nanny for a local family - she is familiar with the area and spends lots of time at the Horniman museum, Dulwich park, Goose green playground etc. Ideally she is looking for full time Monday to Friday but is also very happy to do weekends if needed. If you are interested then please PM me and I will pass on Sonia's contact details so you can chat with her direct.

Hi there -she sounds exactly what I'm lookingfor for my 5 and 8 yr old boys from sept. our lovely nanny of 2 yrs is leaving us to go back to uni and we're looking for a live out nanny, ideally with teaching experience. Our current nanny was a teaching assistant and all works really well. I also used to teach swimming! My boys are active and fun loving. We live in Sydenham and boys at Dulwich schools.

Pls do call on 07890781194

Many thanks

    • If you thought they were off, would it not have been a good idea to have kept them rather than throwing them away, as evidence for Environmental Health or whoever? Or indeed the shop? And do you mean this is the third time you have bought chicken from the same shop which has been off? Have you told the shop? Why did you buy it again if you have twice previously had chicken from there which was off? Have I misunderstood?
    • I found this post after we just had to throw away £14 of chicken thighs from Dugard in HH, and probably for the 3rd time. They were roasted thoroughly within an hour of purchase. But they came out of the oven smelling very woofy.  We couldn't take a single bite, they were clearly off. Pizza for dinner it is then. Very disappointing.
    • interesting read.  We're thinking about the same things for our kids in primary school as well. One thing I don't understand about Charter ED is whether they stream / set kids based on ability.  I got the impression from an open evening that it is done a little as possible. All i could find on-line was this undated letter - https://www.chartereastdulwich.org.uk/_site/data/files/users/18/documents/9473A8A3547CCCD39DBC4A55CA1678DC.pdf?pid=167 For the most part, we believe in mixed ability teaching and do not stream in Year 7 or Year 8. The only exceptions to this are that we have a small nurture class for Maths. This is a provision for students who scored lower than 85 in their SATS exams and is designed to support them to acquire the skills to access the learning in mainstream class. We do not have nurture classes for any other subjects. We take a more streamed - though not a setted - approach in Maths and Science from Year 9 onwards. though unsure if this is still accurate reflection of policy, and unsure of difference between streaming and setting.
    • Hello, I'm looking for an entertainer for my 9 year old son's birthday party. Looking for someone who can organise some games for the kids as my son and his friends are quite active. Regards, Sue
