I gave these guys a second chance, only to have been sat here for 30 minutes waiting for the manager. No phonecall about lateness, nothing.

Although I am livid and feeling like a mug I guess it is better to find out about this unreliability now rather than when my 4 year old is stood outside school waiting for someone to come and pick him up.

Unbelievable "service" from a childcare service provider. Dreadful experience with these guys.

Hi Midivydale,

Sorry for your disappointment safe hands sitters are very reliable and do not play around with our customers as it would not be very business like and need services like this to operate. Every parent/carer we have seen has had positive reviews from us and would never let or leave a child which is very big to assume. We did request with you after you cancelled that we could not meet originally were we was meant to and had no reply. We are truly sorry if you feel you have been let down

Yours sincerely

Interesting, the story keeps changing as I have received a different email from you saying that you had fired the lady who was supposed to meet me as she has let down others as well?

Anyway, there has been enough chances given from my family, I am outraged and extremely disapointed at the terrible service I have received. This would be appaling if it was a dry cleaners but to think that this unreliabilty is going on when young children are involved is just mindblowing.

I took the day off work to meet with you today, I should habe known that this was bogus after the first incident. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Hi Midvydale,

I the owner have personally emailed and apologised to you and your family on the service you received in saying that could you please not send messages that are inappropriate as this tarnishes my services. I have explained to you that the area manager has been dismissed who has control over our emails and pre-meetings before we start our childcare services where if you look at the time it was sent was before i messaged you as i have come in today and have read all emails and knew that bookings weren't done that is how i found out you were let down. Are area manager posted it so i have now changed all passwords as they are no longer with company. As stated are sitters are reliable and trustworthy as they have a lot at risk towards there career also myself. I do apologise to the service you received once again and have learnt from this when employing people to be the area manager as these things do happen in business.

I am simply stating the facts of the service that I have received to date, there is nothing inappropriate in doing so. I have no means or interest whatsoever in looking at timestamps or whatever. I have wasted enough time as it is and am now in the stressful situation of having to find reliable childcare service for my young child with two weeks to spare.

I have no interest whatsoever in tarnishining your business. I wish you the very best for the future and hope that things settle so that no more families experience what we have.

Edited to say that I have now indeed received an email of apology from the owner, which I do appreicate. Whilst it is too late for our family, hopefully this is a learning experience everyone can move on from positively.

To all parent/carers,

An apology if your appointment to meet with you and your child yesterday and today was cancelled due to are area manager being very unprofessional and not turning up or calling to explain why they cannot make it. Due to this i have very un-happy parent/carers and also tarnishes my childcare business that i have worked so hard and love to do. The area manager was dismissed and from this point i will be dealing with meeting you before we provide our childcare service.

I would like to make clear that are sitters are highly qualified, trustworthy and reliable this does not affect the way are sitters operate as they also run the risk of destroying their childcare career of being unable too look after children.

Safe Hands sitters would like to say thank you for those who have re-arranged with me and given us a second chance i will look forward to meeting you over the weekend and hopefully you and your child enjoy safe hand sitters services.

Yours sincerely

I was one of those who were affected by this on Thursday evening waited and no one turned up or even a phoned i thought very unprofessional and angry.

But safe hands owner did apologise and re-schedule with me for today and just finished my meeting with the owner i can truly say that i was a little worried but after today i am reassured it was a good meeting and good to know the face and team of the company. I have a 2 and 7 year old who need picking up from nursery and school until i get home so need something that fits around that. Safe hands owner was really nice and knew exactly how to interact with my children which was nice to see. I will be meeting my sitter on Tuesday before my services start on the 6th of September.

Despite the disappointment before it was a very nice meeting and nice to know the owner is also a parent, Thank you for apology as things do happen. I will look forward to using this service and hopefully can use this on many other occasions.

I have an appointment booked for a sitter to come tomorrow. I have tried to email and call safe hand sitters for information and no answer. They have not replied to any emails and the phone line sounds like it's dead??

I am concerned that they will not turn up.

Safe hand sitters - can you please call me and message me ASAP.

So no one turned up this morning from SAFE HAND SITTERS. I'm livid! Thank god it was only a trial and I didn't have to go to work. Disgusting behaviour not even a phone call.

Beware people, don't use SAFE HAND SITTERS.

    • What would I do about cyclists?  The failed Tory manfesto commitment to train all kids was an excellent proposal.  Public information campaigns aimed at all road users, rather than singling some out, to more considerately share the road, as TfL have done, is welcome too. As for crunching vehicles.  I'd extend this to illegal ebikes, illegal e-scoooters (I think some local authorities have done this with the latter) but before that I would (a) legislate that the delivery companies move away from zero hours contracts to permanent employees and take responsibility for their training, vehicles and behaviour on the road.   More expensive takeaways are a price worth paying for safer roads and proper terms and conditions (b) legislate to register all illegal e-bikes and scooters so that when they are found on the road the retailer takes a hit, and clamp down on any grey markets.  If you buy an e scooter say from Halfords this comes with a disclaimer that it can only be used on private land with the owner's permission.
