help constructing a lightweight frame - 3-way tube joints

Hi,

I'm trying to build a simple, light weight frame for a children's den, out of plummer's PVC piping. It's for a children's charity and needs to be easily assembled/disassembled every week. Plummer's piping seemed perfect but am finding it difficult to source these simple 3-way corner joints (pic attached). I think it's called a 'tee'. Probably very unlikely, but if anyone has these please let me know! I need 6 or 12.

Alternatively, if someone knows an alternative solution to building a lightweight frame from tubes or something else (cardboard postal tubes?), please let me know. Thanks

Olicia,

In my experience the "3-way" type of connector you are looking for are not used in plumbing fittings.

However, you could construct a similar junction by combining a T piece with an elbow.

If the structure is not too large, it could be made quite cheaply from 21.5 mm diameter overflow pipe and push together fittings.

One supplier is screwfix.... http://www.screwfix.com/c/heating-plumbing/overflow-waste-system/cat831604

I think your picture is of a corner piece.

A tee is the shape of a tee road junction ie a a straight piece with another in the middle at right angles.

I know as I'm about to build a fruit cage!

Gardening Naturally are often a lot cheaper than Harrold Horticultural. I'll find the website.

Obviously you need to get joiners for the right diameter tube, but they have other options on the website.

ETA: If you don't want to pay the postage, I may be getting some other stuff from them if you want to PM me. I could get yours as well.

ETA: I've linked to just one of the pieces they do, which probably isn't one you need.

I'll get the link for the whole site. Their paper catalogue is also very comprehensive.
