Southern Alps - family holiday

Hi, we are wanting to spend a week in the Alps this July/August with our then 6 and 4 year old.

Has anyone been in the summer and if so have you got any recommendations re accommodation and things to do.

Due to better weather I think we are looking at Southern Alps

Hi,

due to weather we went to the northern Alps (Austria) last summer.

As I wanted an "active summer trip" the south (Italy) is too warm for me.

We stayed near Salzburg, had sun, mountains, activities without end, I can really recommend it.

But on the other hand, I do love the south, Bolzano (hm, food, wine!) beautiful Dolomites, clear lakes for swimming.

Go for a local B&B or family farm and you will have a lovely time!
