Good spot Fuschia. I went to Groombridge on Thursday and the kids had a brilliant time.

Thank you Fuschia have wanted to go for ages. It's my husband's birthday tomorrow and we are tossing up between this, Bodiam or Hever castle for a fun day out for all of us. Any recent thoughts or comparisons very welcome! We did Leeds castle a few weeks ago and had a lovely time.

I haven't been to the others but my boys love Hever. The water maze is really cool, and they often have sword and shield painting etc in the hols... (jousting in the summer which is fab!)

It depends what you're looking for. If you want a proper castle then Bodiam, Hever or Leeds. The thing that is great about Groombridge is the play equipment in the 'Enchanted Wood' - really fun and active, but no castle.
