Good monitor with good reception through thick walls

Recommended Posts

Hi all - we were initially looking at buying the Anglecare baby monitor, but I understand that while it works well in flats, it does not have good reception through the thicker walls of the older terraced houses.

Can anyone recommend a good baby monitor that has good reception through walls as well as distance? We initially wanted one with the video monitor, but good reception is more important to us.

Thanks very much. Simone

I have a basic tommee tippee (model 1082) - receives in basement when baby is several floors away in attic and even stretches to next door if we pop over for a drink! It was one of the cheaper ones but recommended on which? I think.

We have the Motorola MBP41 which is a video monitor (invaluable!!) and reaches from kitchen to loft (multi-floor house so that's a lot of floors and walls). Reception drops sometimes in the garden and always when microwave on but other than that we're really happy with it. It's travelled well on holiday and a nifty extra that I didn't see with others is you can zoom in and pan up and down and left and right (so far you can see while nursery) which could be more handy when baby is older.

Got it a few months ago on offer at Argos so a good price too.
