Have lots to sell-can anyone recommend the best on-line store to have(Amazon,e-bay etc)??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have lots of baby clothing and equipment to sell-all used and in great condition. I was thinking of selling on the forum, but then thought that having an on-line store would be the best way to go.

I've looked at selling on-bay(you pay a monthly cost which seems like another debt!), then looked at Amazon sell a little where you pay a small cost per item(pence) rather than a monthly installment.

Would just like to know if anyone has experience(good or bad) of any of the above on-line stores and just some general advice really.

Thank you!xxx

Buttercup, I sell on my daughters used stuff to afford to buy the next stage of toys or clothes and wouldn't use anything but eBay or the forum. eBay is a huge platform for selling and buying with an enormous reach. I would go elsewhere. Yes I pay fees but it's worth it for the additional monies earned, plus I like my paypal account to be rolling constantly. Each month they just send me and email detailing fees and automatically take them from my paypal account, I don't see it as a debt at all. I don't think amazon is worth selling on although I haven't ever researched fully. I hope this helps somewhat.

We used Gumtree recently, the free option. Though for an office move rather than children's clothes / toys. No costs and struggled to keep up with the interest it generated! Then of course there's preloved, again a free option.

    • That is clearly not true. I see car drivers breaking the law on hourly basis - jumping red lights, speeding, not obeying the general rules. Plus they  are operating considerably more dangerous machinery and should have a greater responsibility of care to other road uses. You can see who causes the most harm by the stats.

    • A quick Google found this, amongst other things: "Social impact models are frameworks or approaches that guide how organizations or initiatives address social or environmental problems."
    • "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it must be a duck" comes to mind Unfortunately, a large number of cyclists do exhibit selfish amd anti social behaviour which, regardless of how many good cyclists there are, is seen as the norm.  It's a bit like one car driver jumping a red light and all car drivers getting tarred by the same brush. Perception is the issue and if cyclists all obeyed the rules, everyone would be less anti them but unfortunately that isn't the case 🤔
