Cocktails and a grown up film at the Ritzy? We usually can't make it past 10pm so meal and cinema almost impossible. A friend goes to queens way cinema (u think that's the one) where you can have a meal whilst watching a film. Would also recommend Young Vic for a play and a drink and bar snacks.

Camberwell: FM Mangal, Silk Road, Camberwell Arms, Crooked Well (both of the last 2 do amazing cocktails)

Peckham: Artusi, Refreshment Rooms, Ganapati (all preceeded by or followed by drinks at Montpelier). I also second Il Giardino.

East Dulwich - Franklins, the French place opposite the Co-op, Toast-ed

are people doing it deliberately now?

Most of the non-ED places are as easy to get to, granted but..

The clincher to the original question is "Without breaking the bank" -so we can only guess how much is in teh bank

But in ED places break down into "pricey but not mega bucks" like ToastED, Franklins, Palmerston, mid-range (most other places incl curry houses etc) or Favourite chicken

Always have a soft spot for Franklins but reality is that on rare occassins we got to go out in ED, without kids, in the evening, it was Palmerston

    • And what would you suggest for cyclists that also flout the rules?  Crush their bikes at the same facility that crushes errant drivers cars ?  Same rules and punishment must  apply to all road users (except runaway horses of course)
    • I'm looking for a guitar teacher for my 17 year old son. In terms of music that he likes, he says he's interested in learning fingerpicking (although I guess he needs to learn the basics first!). He listens to quite a lot of acoustic guitar stuff as well as indie stuff, has a curious interest in Japanese pop and loves folk too. Ideally we would be looking for someone who could do one-to-one lessons at my flat, which is 5 minutes walk from Honor Oak tube station.
    • Enforcement for both drivers and cyclists low priority for the police and our local politicians. Not my decision.  I'd happily make those that don't know or bother with mirror signal manoeuvre, or cut corners, resit their test, but that would be 90 percent of drivers so would overwhelmed the system and lead to civil unrest.  A more straightforward response would be to put the car in a crusher but that would be even less popular.  I'll consult the old testament to see what else could be done
    • The rubbish in Sainsbury's bags is from a house across the road, this is considered fly-tipping, have other photos with garden rubbish, paint bucket and BBQ, this has been happening for a long time!
