Help: Local music groups for a 2 year old this September 2015

Recommended Posts

Our beloved music class with Monica Weil's Creative Music is sadly coming to an end as she's retiring this month.

Such a shame as they really were the best classes we ever went to.

I am looking for a fun music class starting in Sept 2015 for my little one who'll be just about turning 2 then. We didn't really get on with Boppin Bunnies at Punk Me Up cafe as the littles ones tend to run all around the shop and be more interested in painting lol!

I know that there's the Monkey Music franchise but I wondered if there was anything a bit more local?

Please let me know if you have any recco's....

Thanks heaps x

Hi depending on where you are there is a lovely group on a Tuesday morning at the ivy house 10.30-11.15 Margaret's music. Lots of drumming using instruments

New songs that we hadn't heard before going there. ?5.50 per session and ?1 for every extra child.

She has a Facebook page search for Margaret's music ltd for timetables and locations.

It's in Camberwell so not so local, but this is a really brilliant group which you can attend on a drop-in basis but which I found really attempted to in still the basics of good musicianship - even in two year olds. So they did lots of things like watching the 'conductor', playing loud and soft, as well as having lots of fun and hearing a lovely musical story each week.

Lots of opportunities to try instruments and good progression paths too.

I warmly recommend Becky Vicary's Music for Little People classes. We have just finished 3 years with Becky (my son is starting reception in September).Becky is a professional singer and musician as well as being brilliant with children and her fun and creative classes have really inspired my son to have a love of music.

Here's a link to Becky's contact details:

and to her timetable:

(although I believe her 2-4 class in East Dulwich is changing to 10am on Wednesday mornings from September).

    • That is clearly not true. I see car drivers breaking the law on an hourly basis - jumping red lights, speeding, not obeying the general rules. Plus they are operating considerably more dangerous machinery and should have a greater responsibility of care to other road uses. You can see who causes the most harm by the stats.
    • Looking for a suit for an 11 year old. Quite specific, white with black thin stripes.  Trying to replicate Michael Jacksons smooth criminal costume.  A blue linen shirt and white tie.    Thank you !!!!!!!
    • A quick Google found this, amongst other things: "Social impact models are frameworks or approaches that guide how organizations or initiatives address social or environmental problems."
    • "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it must be a duck" comes to mind Unfortunately, a large number of cyclists do exhibit selfish amd anti social behaviour which, regardless of how many good cyclists there are, is seen as the norm.  It's a bit like one car driver jumping a red light and all car drivers getting tarred by the same brush. Perception is the issue and if cyclists all obeyed the rules, everyone would be less anti them but unfortunately that isn't the case 🤔
