BFG - ok for Little ones?

My 5 and 3 year old are desperate to see the BFG as they love the old film (David Jason etc). But it's a PG.... Have others taken similar ages? They're quite robust, and handled the original fine.

Any thoughts?

My 3 year old went and loved it. A few moments of "I want to go home" due more to sad scenes than scary scenes, but soon got over these moments and still talking about it. Her older 9 year old brother also loved it.

Our 2 year old loved it and is still talking about it 3 weeks later. The scenes with not-so-friendly giants were a little scary, though.

We went and was a great success. As you say, scary bits but nothing they couldn't handle. Highly recommended.
