I don't know about ballet books but at the moment the new Lauren Childs book "Look into my eyes" is meant to be a bit hit with young teenagers. Story about a girl spy, can't remember the blurb but it's on sale in Sainsburys and WH Smith.

Again, not ballet but my girls loved the Hunger Games trilogy - think it's Suzanne Collins.

Ooh, we loved the Huger Games books they were brilliant, but not very ballet-y, no. At 13 I think my girl was still quite into the Jaqueline Wilson type books, or anything by Cath Cassidy, or Sophie McKenzie ( I also enjoyed the latter - oh the shame). All social, friends, growing-up plot lines.

His Dark Materials trilogy - Philip Pullman, Good for any age from 10 - 80, my older girls LOVE it. Now my 13 year old she and all her friend are wanting to read Noughts and Crosses, By Malorie Blackman, the first in a trilogy about friendship and love in a segregated society.

It was a long time ago - but I used to love a series of ballet books which started with "Ballet for Drina".
