how much would you pay a babysitter if you're at home too?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of looking for a bit of help with my two children aged 5 months and 3, so I can get my work done.

I'll need someone to chat to the toddler and rescue the baby when she rolls, while I work upstairs.

It'd be for 2-3 hours at a time, and I'd be happy to be given a shout if there are any problems.

What would be the going rate for that sort of thing? Anyone know? Thanks

My niece age 14 does similar job 1 or 2 days a week. i think she gets 25? for about 3-3.5 hours. in winter if it is dark outside lady pays for cab or drops her home in summer she usually walks home as it is 2 streets away. Pocket money.

I think the least you can reasonably pay an adult is the London living wage. Teenagers might work for less, but they are getting the work experience and CV points out of it too.

And I agree with the above comment, it is much harder when the mum is at home - especially toddlers who know you're there and want to go and find you all the time...
