Plumber recommendation

I just moved into a new flat and had a problem with my plumbing. My electrician recommended Niko, and without a better option, I texted him straight away. He responded immediately (a rarity these days, I find), was flexible with his availability, turned up at the time specified, did the job he was required to do which included a trip to buy parts on my behalf, went above and beyond both in his work and in his general advice for me as a first time buyer in a Local Authority block and his advice for me refitting my kitchen and bathroom(which I was very grateful for!), was approachable, professional, and reasonably priced.

I highly recommend him as reliable, competent, friendly and not intimidating, and above all, a fair price for a job well done. He used to work for various councils, so he's familiar with all sorts of properties, and all sorts of problems.

I'd just like to add a recommendation for Niko. He came out to us within the hour and solved a leaking bath and broken shower quickly, efficiently and at a very reasonable charge. And another glowing recommendation! Niko came round on a Saturday within 20 minutes of my call, advised me that I didn't need half the work that I thought I did (saving me a lot of money), and spent ages trying to fix a tricky problem with my loo. Then would only take ?30 for his visit, since he hadn't been able to completely sort it to his satisfaction.

I would like to add a further recommendation for Niko. He did a great job fixing some plumbing issues with our toilet and bath. He also noted a couple of outstanding DIY jobs in the bathroom which we hadn't got around to doing and asked if I would like him to do them. He also went out about bought the parts we needed to fix the toilet. This was all done very swiftly and efficiently.

I want to add a further recommendation for Niko - he came around to fix my toilet flush at really short notice, was quick, efficient and not expensive. He could have replaced the entire cistern, but managed to fix the problem using his skill and expertise so that I didn't have to fork out for a replacement.

He followed up with a phone call to check everything is ok and I would 100% use his services again. Top guy!

Another recommendation for Niko from me. He's just come around this morning (a Sunday) after I called yesterday with a bit of an emergency. All our cold taps jammed and we needed them fixed before going away for a few days. Niko has just finished and got everything working perfectly. Prompt, really nice bloke and really good value as well. He also talked us through the issue so we knew exactly what was wrong and what he was doing.

Will definitely be giving him a call if we have any future issues.

I would too like to add another recommendation for Niko. Niko previously came to visit me too last year when 5 separate plumbers were called to solve a problem with a leaky sink. Niko was eventually the 6th plumber who sorted the problem straight away and knew exactly what it was. I remembered how straight down the line and knowledgable he was that I called him again a few weeks ago to sort out a father in law DIY disaster. He came round in the evening at a time that suited me and fixed 2 leaky basin taps, sealed the basin plug hole, and fixed a the trap that was leaking. He spent a bit of time, crotching under the tiny sink and only charged us ?40. The best thing was he was so bothered by a previous plumbers messy work, he even spent a bit of time tidying that up too. I will without a doubt be using this guy again in the future!

I called him this afternoon re a blocked drainage pipe and he was able to come around this evening to sort it out, which he did very effectively and for a very reasonable price. Friendly, professional and with a great knowledge of the plumbing in our building (a sixties council flat), he was able to sort the problem at once and happily we are able to shower again. I would also wholeheartedly recommend Niko as a plumber. He was at our place within an hour, last Saturday morning, when i called him with an emergency plumbing and drainage issue. If you approach anyone for help with plumbing locally then make sure you include John Powers in your search. He could not be better, based on his mending a broken-down boiler for us over one of the coldest weekends in February. He came when he said he would come. He explained everything that needed doing and he even rang the day after his final visit to check all was okay. And that has never happened with any plumber I have had in before. He was also very reasonable and did everything he could, it seemed to me, to keep the costs down.

I would like to recommend Niko as well; I moved into the new flat just over the weekend, after first cooking and realized the leakage under the sink; I called Niko on Monday afternoon after reading all the recommendation he had; He immediately called me back and offered to help me within 30 mins since he is just around the area. When he came over, he was very pleasant and knew exactly what he does. Not only he finished his job and also gave me some very good advise on maintaining the property.

Another thumbs up for Niko the plumber. I got home late to find my toilet cistern wouldn't stop filling and was leaking from the overflow pipe. I left Niko a message early on Sat. morning asking for help after reading feedback on the Forum. Although I managed to solve the problem myself before Niko called me back, he offered to come out free-of-charge to check it was okay & put my mind at rest that the problem wouldn't reoccur before my planned bathroom refurb went ahead next week. I'll be keeping his number for future emergencies.
