Bathroom fitter & toilet question!

Hi,

Could anyone recommend a good bathroom fitter? We have a very old (ex council) bathroom that needs completely ripping out, re-fitting & decorating, pref if you know someone who can do a high quality tiling job.

Attached is a pic of the back of our toilet! In order to get the toilet (new, close coupled toilet) installed as close to the back wall as possible, does the big cast iron pipe need removing or can it be cut at the base? Some have said cutting it may risk fracturing it and it would be better to dig the whole thing out & put a new pipe in from the back wall, others have said cutting it is fine and the toilet can still go back very close to the wall without digging it out. The guy who said to dig the whole thing out isn't actually anymore expensive than the ones who've said to cut it so tempted to do that but don't want to go with a lot more work if it's not actually required. Do you know someone who can advise on this before we place the job with someone?

Many thanks,

Coral

    • That is clearly not true. I see car drivers breaking the law on an hourly basis - jumping red lights, speeding, not obeying the general rules. Plus they are operating considerably more dangerous machinery and should have a greater responsibility of care to other road uses. You can see who causes the most harm by the stats.

    • A quick Google found this, amongst other things: "Social impact models are frameworks or approaches that guide how organizations or initiatives address social or environmental problems."
    • "If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it must be a duck" comes to mind Unfortunately, a large number of cyclists do exhibit selfish amd anti social behaviour which, regardless of how many good cyclists there are, is seen as the norm.  It's a bit like one car driver jumping a red light and all car drivers getting tarred by the same brush. Perception is the issue and if cyclists all obeyed the rules, everyone would be less anti them but unfortunately that isn't the case 🤔
