I went down LL on Saturday after getting my veg/fruit etc from Prettys..it is such a joy to go to all the individual shops around here...we are so lucky. I haven't been to Lush for a while..so popped in bought a notebook and mug as a present...lovely helpful lady, had a nice chat. then popped across to see Lilla's, the new jewellery shop (all second hand jewellery)...what a beautiful shop! I asked about prices as thought they might be expensive, but a very helpful lady, called Hannah explained prices start from ?50. I ended up looking around and found a lovely topaz ring..(which my husband bought me as a 'belated' engagement ring!) which they also resized for me...well under ?100 too, so very happy. It is great to see two more lovely shops on the lane, with nice products and cheerful staff.. I hope they stay for a long time!

Yes, I second the above post.

Went in to Lila's to check it out, expected it to be really pricy because the stock was so lovely ( as well as the shop fit) and was pleasantly surprised at how affordable most of the items were.

Like Sue K I ended up being brought a beautiful ring by my other half!

now saving up so I can go back and treat myself to something else!!!

Another happy customer of Lila's,I bought a wonderful ring on the weekend for a friends special birthday. The staff where really nice and helpful but not pushy. I also received some great advise about resizing the ring for my friend etc. I will definitely be back.

    • Labour are proposing to nationalise the railways, (passenger trains but not fright)  Whilst it removes them from shareholders control, and potential profit chasing, is it workable or will it end up costing tax payers more in the long run?  On paper the idea is interesting but does it also need the profitable freight arm included to help reduce fares,?
    • Another recommendation here for Jason.  He came to plaster over a section of ceiling that we had to remove in order to investigate a leak.  He is a really lovely guy, easy to get in touch with and great communication.  He was quick, tidy and competitively priced.  Very happy and I'd have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.
