Architect and Builder recommendation

We have recently had a beautiful loft extension built. It was not your average conversion, as we had very specific ideas about its use and design. We decided to bring on board an architect to come up with the design and to then project manage.

We really hit gold with Darren Oldfield (http://www.darrenoldfield.co.uk/index.php) who managed to take our ideas and put together a beautiful and thought through design. He diligently took us through the whole process and brought on board a team of excellent collaborators, including our contractor Michael Piludu of Urban Spaces (http://www.urbanspaceltd.co.uk/)

Michael and his team took on the job with enormous enthusiasm. Their work was to a very high standard, with a great deal of attention to detail. His team were incredibly hard working, respectful and tidy (much appreciated). He has also been very diligent and quick following up all the inevitable snagging issues after the project was finished.

We would be very happy to recommend both Darren and Michael for any future projects.

Hi All,

Matthew worked with us for six months on renovating our house and providing guidance on all architectural and interior design matters relating to a very extensive refurbishment we undertook during 2014. He offered first-rate advice on new floor layouts, construction works, bespoke carpentry pieces, and colour schemes and lighting. The refurbishment involved a complete redesign of the interior, and the addition of a 40m2 glass-roofed side return extension.

We were very impressed with the results, and are very pleased to recommend Matthew

You can call him on 07743 074244 or check his website www.SigmaLondon.com

    • Just wondering- what were they arrested for? If you remember
    • Cyclists certainly do have a bit of a perception problem at the moment and when I cycle I see a lot of examples of arrogance and ignorance that gives all cyclists a bad name - it does seem that many cyclists have caught the entitlement bug many drivers seem to have.
    • But Spartacus didn't mention the significant amounts of land being used for car storage - that was most definitely you.   And I am afraid when you apply your same measure to other transport uses (like cycleways and cycle lanes - Malumbu is your stat on the 360 kms of cycle network cycleways or cycle lanes?) then it most definitely is relevant for the debate.   Should we assume then that if all this ULEZ money and government bailout money is being poured into TFL then the system is, financially at least, broken or is it a case that the money is being mis-spent (like the DV junction project)?
    • Contact your SNT (police). An old friend of mine (now deceased) was a 'victim' of a door to door scam some years ago. He mentioned it to our local SNT police officers who found that several ED residents had been visited by these ;salespeople. It was arranged that my friend asked the scammers to return on a certain day and time when he had some money to purchase their goods. Police in plain clothes outside in street watching. with a uniformed officer in the house - scammers returned and were arrested.
