Fantastic Local Plumbers

We woke up Saturday morning to a pool of water in our bathroom, after a disastrous attempt at trying to fix it ourselves (we made it worse and came close to divorce), we decided to google local plumbers. Rye Plumbing & Heating came up, i called and Rick came within 15 minutes. Great guy, helped fix and replace the pipes we needed and didn't charge us crazy money... so refreshing. We would 100% use Rick again and i can't recommend him enough. His number is 07721060037.

I run A Small Studio, (an architecture, design & landscape practice in West Dulwich) and I meet tradesmen on a daily basis on different construction sites.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Rick's company (07721060037) for an emergency plumbing job. They were able to make the site visit within the same day, handled the job with care and precision and charged a very reasonable rate. I could tell they were experienced ands serious with their job and took care of their clients. I would wholeheartedly recommend calling them for nay Plumbing needs.

I would definitely recommend Rick. I phoned Rick regarding a leaking toilet (it is a customised unit with a sink attached that an other plumber called would not touch!) He came the next morning and fixed it promptly. Whilst there also fitted a new kitchen tap and linked up an outside garden tap as well. Very friendly, fast and efficient. Reasonably priced. I will using his services again regarding s bathroom refurbishment. Claire

I would also recommend Rick and his team. I called him this morning (07721060037) with 2 seperate issues - a leaking kitchen sink and a blocked saniflow and his colleagues were round a couple of hours later. Very friendly, helpful and efficient and got things fixed in no time. Thankfully they could clear the blockage saving me several hundred pounds and lots of hassle for a new saniflow system. Will definitely use again if we have further plumbing troubles!

  • 2 weeks later...

Rang around for a plumber. Thank god Rick answered.

He came an hour later - checked out the leak advised of parts - went and got them

Spent over two hours completely taking the toilet apart!!!

And put it all back together - cleaned and hoovered. And his rates were very reasonable especially as it was a Saturday , last minute and he responded straight away. Puts my faith back in this forum.

Call him. 07721 060037

Another recommendation for Rick, rang him on Sunday as I managed to burst a water pipe by stuffing too much food down my insinkerator! He came within a couple of hours and worked fast and efficiently to fix the problem.

And another recommendation for Rick. He came in less than an hour, assessed the problem (with a toilet), got the necessary parts and fixed it. He charged what he quoted and that was reasonable.

Add to that, he was pleasant. I will recommend him and would use him again...though of course I hope I wont need to!

Hi, another endorsement for Rick and his brother.

Rick was originally booked for a small job in the new house we moved to on Saturday, however throughout the day inherited problem plumbing started to show itself. Nothing was an issue for Rick and he sorted everything quickly and competitively!

Would definitely recommend Rick to all on the EDF looking for a plumber.

I would also like to recommend Rick. Even though our jobs weren't an emergency, he came round very quickly and his work is neat, tidy and he cleaned up after himself. You can contact him on 07721060037.

Hi all. I too can whole heartedly recommend Rick (07721060037). I had a sink waste which needed replacing and he came round the same day I called and replaced it incredibly quickly and for a very reasonable price. I will be using his services again for sure. Thank you.

Another recommendation for Rick. He repaired our leaking shower, fitted new taps and checked over work completed by another plumber (who had left me feeling less than confident!) A nice guy, who is quick and reasonable. Will use him again.

I texted Rick just over 2 hours ago about a very slow draining sink which I was hoping to get fixed sometime during the week - wasn't bad enough to need an emergency call out.

Much to my surprise he called me straight back and said he could be with me in a couple of hours, and no extra fee for weekend call-out as he was working already. All fixed very quickly and efficiently, plenty of useful tips shared so that when I decide to replace the bathroom in full I don't make some of the mistakes that were made in the current installation.

When I eventually replace in full I will definitely give him a call for a quote.

Another positive endorsement from me! I rang Rick yesterday around 9am and he was with me by 10am. We had a leaking stopcock and also a small fracture in one of the pipes. Rick did a fantastic job and kept me informed throughout of what needed to be done. He also carried out the work in our very cramped downstairs loo so access was quite tricky. As an added bonus he sealed the loo to the floor which obviously hadn't been dealt with properly by the previous owners.

I will definitely use Rick again next time we need a plumber. Very nice guy, good work and tidied up afterwards.

We had Rick round last week to look at a leaking toilet, he managed to fix the problem despite it being a hidden cistern with no proper access panel left by the plumber who installed it, his solution to replace the loo without having to smash up the bathroom tiles & get the old cistern out has saved us money & hassle in the long term in my opinion. I am happy to recommend him based on our experience & he is due back tomorrow to finish off some other bits & pieces. I am happy to recommend him & will post again after he has been back if I am happy with the next bit of the job - which I am sure based on what he did last week we will be. I would say reliable and friendly & efficient service.

More praise and thanks. I called Rick for an evening emergency - water dripping from the ceiling. Not only did he answer the phone, he promptly visited and fixed the leak. I appreciated his honest and energetic approach - I'd have been none-the-wiser if he'd said I needed a huge expensive fix. Since, Rick has completed a couple of things to a high standard, minimal fuss, promptly and quickly. Plus he's a nice guy.

    • all I said was "take a pro cash stance too far" - what twisting have I done?   plenty of good arguments for retention of cash - but let's not get too detached from reality either lest we go back to trading livestock   But to go back to your post DD:   "Or don't stop using cash" Yep plenty of people will agree with this - nothing controversial here   "Stop using your phone or even your watch as a banknote" - getting a bit weird now - why not - it's super convenient for both users and businesses. And far easier to keep a track of your balance using your electronic wallet than old systems of cheques taking days to clear, how much did I take from cashpoint 2 days ago etc. But people will differ so whatever works   "God only knows how much damage we're doing to the planet because all the above must require a hell of a lot of resources and juice from the grid" - big straw man argument here. Why bring this in? Unless you are also suggesting we don't buy any goods not made from within a 5 mile radius and nothing transported by air or sea? "a big lump of plastic with a screen and full of personal information that can be easily gleamed." I've had my phone stolen but nothing was lost because it was secure.I've been mugged and lost cash and valuable. It's not a binary thing   "your sky rocket with a phone in your hand. It's become a source of dopamine for many. It's an addiction for many."  Proper overreaching now There is a reason people like their modern phones - and it isn't just replacing cash. Replacing all of these functions in a tiny device is a magnificent achievement and to just boil  it down to "big lump with a screen" is reductive in the extreme
    • I agree with the posts that housing is an urgent need in Peckham and throughout Southwark. But as Alice says, it’s the percentage of social / affordable housing that matters. In October last year, there were over 4,200 households on the Council’s waiting list for housing in Peckham alone (over 17 thousand across Southwark). But the developer is only offering 35% affordable housing (which means that 65% will be unaffordable). Both Southwark Council and the GLA say that a big development like this should provide 50% affordable housing.   Re-development of the site is a great opportunity to make the town centre “cleaner, safer and more sustainable and welcoming” (borrowing Nigello’s great words). Is this dense development going to do that, when it provides no real green and open space where people can spend time outside and nature can help us tackle the growing problems of climate change like absorbing flood water, cooling the air on baking summer days? Are 7-storey buildings along Rye Lane (where the average buildings are 2-3 storeys) going to be welcoming to users of the town centre? How will the development impact on Peckham’s economy? Currently there is busy daytime commercial activity of shops providing for different demographics and needs including a rich offering of international groceries and other products, alongside a thriving night-time economy. I can’t see anything in the proposal that suggests how it will enhance and empower the local economy. Yes please, let’s have a great development on this site that enhances the town centre. This means not letting the developer get away with packing people into dense blocks that turn their back on the town centre and which will be a recipe for urban decay in the long run. Peckham deserves better than this!
