Odd job person/carpenter to repair rotten garden table/chairs

I have a table that is metal framed but whose wooden slats have rotted somewhat. The same goes for two of the accompanying chairs.

A kind and honest carpenter came and told me his fixing it would cost more than a replacement, so if there is someone with any other ideas as to how to do it easily and cheaply (perhaps with otherwise chuckable off cuts, etc.) please PM me and I can send you an image.

Alternatively, if someone wants to buy the set off me so that s/he can repair it get in touch. (Taking into account the relatively small amount of damage, I'd say the set is about %85 sound with just a small amount of wood that's rotted.)
