Thanks for the tip. As it happens Davies and Vaughan were the only jewellers i could find in SE22 when I looked into this a couple of years ago and they were not much help on the phone. They could not give me a ballpark idea of the cost without seeing how much it needed to be stretched or, as you say, whether it was possible. Fair enough maybe, but as it is my partner's ring there was no point bringing it in without bringing her finger in too and I wanted to do it as a surprise so I was a bit stumped. On reflection though, having seen the answers on this thread maybe they thought i was taking the piss.

Might do, but I suspect they'd want the actual finger to get a perfect fit. Thanks.
