Seeking CBT therapist specialising in post-natal depression

Hi there - it's my first time on this forum, so not sure if I'm posting this thread in the right section or not!

I'm trying to help an ED-based friend find a qualified therapist specialising in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for post-natal depression. A therapist in East Dulwich would be ideal to minimise any additional stress of factoring travel into the equation, but suggestions in wider South East London also welcome.

The therapist should be BUPA-approved as my friend has BUPA private healthcare through work that would fund her treatment.

Any suggestions very much welcome. Equally, if anyone knows of any post natal depression support groups locally, this could also be very useful indeed.

Thanks very much in advance!

Hi saw the lovely Christine Niellands in East Dulwich. She is a hypnotherapist but I think she may also do CBT.

www.bouncebackhypnosis.com. I had one session in preparation for going to the dentist to have a tooth extracted. She was very kind and effective and I am still feeling the benefits two years on! I am not sure whether she has worked with people with post natal depression but she is very kind, honest and trustworthy and I am sure if you contacted her she would tell you if she could help or point you in the right direction as she knows other therapists who work locally.

Alternatively, your GP may have a list of CBT practitioners that they recommend.

Good luck

    • Is Sadiq worried about voter apathy/protest votes? Just got another flyer through the door, it seems to be one every couple of weeks, suggesting the Tories are closer than any opinion poll suggests and that people should not vote for the Lib Dems or Greens.
    • I'm basing it on 20+ years cycling in London and seeing the absolute biggest rule-breakers being my fellow cyclists. I once stopped at a zebra crossing to let a man cross and a cyclist behind me called me a putain for stopping.  I've even witnessed a grown man aggressively ringing his bell and swearing at a four year old child for not getting out of his way.... on a footpath.... in Burgess Park.  I genuinely cannot remember the last time a cyclist stopped for me at a pedestrian crossing.  They give the rest of us cyclists and bad name and turn the traffic against us.
    • Sorry to hear and glad you and hopefully bike OK and doesn't put you off cycling. Please do inform the police even if that sounds a waste of time.  Do consider going to the Motor Insurance Bureau, the slush fund set up by insurers for untraced/uninsured motorists.
