Job Description ? Finance Administrator

Due to the growth of the company, we are looking for a financially-minded, organised individual, who is quick to pick up new skills and keen to grow with us, in this new role.

Initially, the role will involve the following:

- Offering a high level of customer service to our clients, who are small businesses, requiring a personalised service

- Managing the phone line and being the initial respondent to messages from our call answering service

- Being responsible for our processing of clients? invoices and statements, working with systems like Auto Entry or other applications as required (no experience of this is necessary, just a willingness to learn)

- Setting up new clients on QuickBooks (training can be provided on this software), including liaison with the client and potentially their previous accountants/bookkeepers, to obtain all relevant data

- Liaise with clients to ensure that we have received from them the documents we require to manage their accounts for them on a monthly basis

We are looking for a person who:

- Thrives on being given responsibility and autonomy

- Is confident dealing with clients and building relationships

- Is keen to learn new skills and work with new technology

- Is looking for a role and a company in which they can grow

- Has experience of administration, ideally within a financial role or environment

- Is highly numerate

- Is a team player, able to communicate with the team as needed and then to deliver on their accountabilities

Initially, we are looking for someone to work 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week. It is extremely likely that this role will grow to offer more hours, so ideally the candidate will be looking to increase their involvement as time progresses. It is important for this role that the person is available Monday to Friday for this role, as the primary point of contact for the business, but flexible working of the necessary hours across those days can be discussed.

Savvy Accounting is an equal opportunities organisation, and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, without prejudice.

The company

Savvy Accounting seeks to provide what it feels is a unique level of service and support to small businesses and the self-employed. Recognising that access to a Financial Director and Finance team is often out of reach for organisations of this size, we provide a value-for-money business partnering service, offering a full range of traditional financial offerings, as well as the role of trusted business advisor.

Savvy has been set up by Alex Ardizzone, whose background is working for large blue-chip companies, managing finance teams and delivering a wide range of finance services. Since having her daughter, she has decided that there is a gap in the market for a different type of accountancy firm, hence the creation of Savvy. She is building around her a similarly customer-focused, financially-minded and savvy team.

The recruitment process

Please send a private message to me with your CV attached and a covering letter to explain why you think you would specifically suit this role and our company. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, but we also want to conduct a fair recruitment process, to find the right person. Suitable candidates will be contacted by the phone over the next fortnight, with interviews set up for 19-23rd March, ideally with a decision made by the end of that week.

    • Two sets of keys were posted through our door on Sunday, but they’re not anything to do with us! They look like they might belong to an Airbnb host, or similar. We’ve tried emailing the company on the key ring, but no joy so far.    If it sounds like these might be yours, please PM me with a description so I can verify and get them back to you!
    • I just joined when I moved to Dulwich 3 years ago.  I have never seen a GP and I wouldn't even know their names.  It is a shame.  I have had to go to AnE for a chest infection as I was sick for over 3 weeks. I don't know what to make of it.  Is this a conspiracy to force people to go private.  If they can afford it.  Or are they just trying to kill us off through lack of medical support.  I do not think that I am qualified to diagnose my own medical condition.  This system is surely not a safe one.   And people will eventually die due to lack of basic health care.  It is a very bad situation.   From cradle to grave.  It seems more grave than cradle to me.  Are all so called GP practises as bad?
    • Years ago there was something similar locally,  but out of a bright blue sky,  so completely unexpected. A bolt from the blue. I heard this massive bang, the loudest thing I'd ever heard (until today!) I went out to investigate and found lightning had struck a house in Whateley Road (I think it was Whateley Road.  Other people may remember, as quite a  few other people were also gathered around). The lightning had gone down the chimney. The fire service were there for some time. It was quite exciting, though I don't suppose the people in the house it struck thought so! https://www.essearth.com/what-is-a-lightning-bolt-from-the-blue/
