A friend of mine had very expensive quotes(?1000+) to remove knotweed so decided to do it himself(reluctantly)

After googling how, the chemicals and equipment cost less than ?100 and it worked....why not try it yourself

The presence of knotweed may affect the ability to sell a property and obtaining a mortgage from previous experience and the companies who deal with it needs to put in place a plan over a period of time to confirm that it is properly gotten rid off. This might mean yearly treatments and a warranty that it has been eradicated. I would recommend spending the money on doing it properly. Sorry, I can't recommend a company but a quick google brings up a few companies offering this service.
