post office for international drivers permit ?

LL post office don't offer this service.

They told me 'city post office' do this service, which I walked away stupidly assuming is the name of a PO branch - however it turns out there are many post offices in the City, none I could find with that name.

PO website advises I try LL PO for int'l drivers permit applications..!

So to short-cut this fiasco, has ANYONE applied for and obtained same permit recently in any post office they can identify ?

Use the PO "branch finder" and the "refine branch services" option, where you can tick IDP - looks like Lewisham is the nearest branch to ED.

Thanks for advices. Perhaps the refine branch services bit was where I went wrong.

Will follow-up in that direction and poss look at RAC/AA.

I sorted my International Driving Permit last week at the Eastcheap Post Office in the City, close to Monument. The PO branch finder mistakenly advises that the London Bridge branch offers this service but it doesn?t.

Got ours at the PO just off the Steamd, opposite Charing Cross.

AK65 - yeah LL PO told me London Bridge PO does IDP too (wrong).

mc68 - Yeah that must be option 5 in RH's post above, 'Trafalgar Square'

Will head to either EastCheap or Trafalgar Sq. branches - cheers guys.
