Help opening (and fixing if poss) sliding patio door!

Is there a handyman about that could help me open my double glazed sliding patio door? The lock is stuck at the top and we are boiling!! We?re on Perry Rise, SE23. Thank you :)

harry the metal has swollen in the heat - we cannot open our balcony door south facing -

you will be able to open it later when the day cools

My elderly neighbour advised that instead of hanging washing out (which I can't as the door is jammed)

to leave it overnight on the airer in the bedroom. So I did. In the morning it was bone dry and sure

the room must have been cooler with the damp air. I have the airer in the bedroom at the moment absorbing

heat, two bath towels, I did not double spin them.

This is something I would not normally allow, but the coolth is very welcome.

Hanging a wet sheet at your doors will absorb some of the heat, we are all suffering,

not as much as Sweden though
