Can you fix my thermostaic shower please?

The heating controls have always been stiff, but now making showering unbearably hot.

It's a cylindrical control...

Help please. Not sure if I need a plumber or specific shower specialist.

Any feedback welcome.

If by cylindrical you mean a bar type shower like these.

Then it?s most likely to be the cartridge. Replacements can be bought (most easily online) if you know the make and model. They?re usually straightforward to fit. If you look underneath the shower valve there is probably a small screw that hold the temperature knob on. Once you take this out then you should be able to access the cartridge to swap it out.

Thank you so much for letting me know, got beyond a joke trying to shower while playing hit and miss.

Will still see if I can find someone to look at it for me, but good to know what to look for.

yes, cartridge- if it is a decent make and you still have the type and model number on any docments, you can usually order them online - they are service parts effectively

Niko the plumber ( there are reviews for him on this forum) fixed my thermostatic shower taps, had the same problem as you! Very nice guy and very reasonable price. 07818 607583.
