andrewc
Our saturday lunchtimes are gonna change now as today the Tulip cafe is closing. The chef has been frying eggs for 28 years with 12 of those at the Tulip. The family who run the place have always been so friendly and it is sad to see them go.So if you are a fan, nip down there today and say goodbye. Ultraconsultancy
a great shame indeed - i haven't been in ED all that long, and finding myself wanting a bacon sarny last week, was advised to go to the tulip. i've had one every day since. nero's panini's just dont cut it... karter
Ultra, try the dulwich cafe' by the palmerston, that place is alot busier than the others and the portions are great. The Tulip is good though, i tried to swing a deal for them a couple of years ago but it didnt quite work out so i suspect it will stay a working mans cafe' or it will evolve into something ED like.:) Lets see on Monday. karter
But there's a chicken shop next door so wouldn't make sense, a kebab shop would be a good idea.

lozzyloz
This is disgraceful. Another independent curry/kebab takeaway? We need a McDonalds. Someone organise a petition.
AllyCat
Oh how disappointing - I was hoping for another lovely drinking den : (I'm sure Mr Cat will be checking this out at some point though ;-)
karter
Rolo, it maybe be named Jaflong but it will not be connected to that website you posted. It will be a first time business venture for a couple of guys that are currently working out of one of the local curry houses.

dc
Jaflong is a Bangladeshi beauty spot 'rolling hills' etc - which would appear to confirm that the style is likely to be simlar to that already available on Lordship Lane.
